Following is the inventory of Rauphe's goodes and chattels. It reveals a middling 16th C craftsman. Local yeomen would have probably lived in a similar sized house but their assets would have been worth more—Rauphe's were worth c £15. It had more rooms than many houses in the town but we do not know how large they were:

The house had a second floor over both hall and workshop—the latter probably used for storage or an apprentice—an inner chamber, a back chamber and a kitchen—perhaps a separate building.
He had painted clothes—imitation tapestries—in the rooms, some of the beds were of feather and not flock and utensils were brass, but there was no silver.
The back house could have been a lean-to or a separate building.
